Sullenberger earned international renown as the captain of the “Miracle on the Hudson,” when on January 15, 2009 he and his crew safely executed an emergency water landing of US Airways Flight 1549 on New York City’s Hudson River. Sullenberger is a safety expert, speaker, and author, and currently serves on the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Advisory Committee for Automation in Transportation.
A polar explorer and environmentalist, Swan is the first man ever to walk unsupported to both the North and South Poles. His expedition in the South Pole was the inspiration for 2041, a company he founded dedicated to the preservation of the Antarctic.
