DUBAI, UAE: PRNewswire: Brighton College UK and Dwight School New York, the two schools new to Dubai, with combined enrollment capacity of up to 4,000 students, will mark a major milestone in offering world-class standards of education to Dubai’s community.

The three primary components of this 89,000 sqm (super) campus include Brighton College Dubai, Dwight School Dubai, and the Centre of Excellence for Arabic Language, Culture and the Arts. In short, this will be an educational destination of major significance, located in the heart of Dubai, set to accommodate pupils from the academic year 2018/19 onwards.

Brighton College Dubai will offer a K-12 British curriculum, seeking to replicate the phenomenal academic success of Brighton College in the UK. Established under Bloom Education’s partnership with Brighton College, the most academically successful co-educational school in the UK, the partners now look forward to becoming trusted providers of innovative and future-focused education in the Emirate.

Richard Cairns, who has led Brighton College UK for the past ten years, said: “Brighton College is the UK’s top co-educational school, renowned for combining academic excellence with a wealth of extra-curricular opportunities, all underpinned by a deep commitment to the individual needs and enthusiasms of each boy or girl.” Brighton College was recently named UK School of the Year by The Times and Richard Cairns was named Headmaster of the Year by Tatler. His headship has been marked by a number of innovations, including the introduction of Mandarin Chinese and Entrepreneurship as core elements of the curriculum. Richard Cairns said, “We are looking forward to opening Brighton College Dubai and to giving parents in Dubai the opportunity to offer their sons or daughters a truly world-class education in one of the world’s greatest cities.”

Dwight School, a renowned private New York-based American International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum school founded in 1872, will offer a K-12 IB curriculum. It will be the first Middle East campus of Dwight School, which currently operates a network of international campuses in LondonSeoul, and Shanghai.

“Dwight New York is delighted to extend Dwight’s 150-year commitment to ‘igniting the spark of genius in every child’ to Dubai, where students will be part of one global Dwight family. Dwight has long pioneered opportunities for students to become innovative global leaders and our new school in Dubai will join those in New YorkLondonSeoul, and Shanghai that share this mission,” said Stephen Spahn, Chancellor of The Dwight Schools, who is celebrating 50 years in education. The longest-serving head of an independent school in the U.S., Chancellor Spahn continued, “Dwight School Dubai will be a model of how to integrate local strengths to enhance learning and create mentoring opportunities beyond the classroom for students, while also equipping them with the skills needed to communicate and collaborate across national borders to solve challenges on a global scale.”

The Centre of Excellence for Arabic Language, Culture and the Arts will be dedicated to the development of intra-cultural exchange, facilitate both teacher and student development, as well as promote a deeper understanding of the rich Arabic history and traditions.
