DGW receives ISO 27001 Certification for information security management

Dubai, United Arab Emirates:

Dubai Government Workshop (DGW) has been awarded the ISO 27001 certification, which is an international standard adopted to determine the status of an information security management system, as well as the extent of its application, maintenance, and improvement. The achievement reflects DGW’s continual efforts to improve the quality of its services and enhance security levels of its information.

Abdulla Rashed Almheiri, Director of the Strategy and Corporate Excellence Office, stated that the certification reflects DGW’s commitment to provide customers with the highest quality of services, and ensuring complete data security and privacy. Almheiri further noted that DGW is always seeking to adopt innovative solutions to improve its operations and provide superior services to its customers.

“We take pride in this achievement and see it as a motivation to continue improving our operations and enhance our customer service levels. This is a significant addition to DGW’s list of accomplishments, in line with its goal to strengthen position as the leading provider of support and repair services for the Dubai government’s fleet of vehicles, through an integrated system of solutions based on cutting-edge technology,” he added.

All organizational units in the entity have been subjected to the ISO 27001 Certification standard for information security management. These standards ensure the selection of appropriate security controls that protect data assets and establish the confidence of concerned parties.  They also constitute frameworks for managing information security and improving the levels of confidentiality, security, and reliability of information systems, thereby reducing the possibility of unauthorized access to sensitive and confidential data, retrieving information, and preventing security breaches.
