Empower registers 6% growth in number of buildings connected with a total of 1,252 projects by end of 2020

Dubai, UAE: Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation “Empower” has announced that the total number of buildings provided with its district cooling services has increased to 1,252 by the end of 2020, marking 6% growth comparing to 2019. This reinforces the company’s position as the world’s largest district cooling services provider.

Empower has indicated that its diversified portfolio covers all the major sectors in Dubai, with the residential sector maintaining the top position in the list of company’s clients by 64%, followed by the commercial sector with 15%. The hospitality sector has increased its share from 13% to 14% in 2020 and the healthcare sector has a share of 3%. The other major sectors such as educational, industrial, and retail sectors together held the remaining 4%.  

The company has connected its services to many iconic projects in Dubai during the period, most notably of which is Ain Dubai, the world’s tallest observation wheel that stands on the Bluewaters Island and three stations in the Route 2020 of Dubai Metro also were connected last year.  The hospitality sector that has increased its share in company’s portfolio includes the major hotel projects such as the Avani Palm View Dubai Hotel & Suites, Adagio The Palm, 7 Palm and Paramount Tower Hotel.

The performance of the company reflects the increasing demand from project developers and real estate owners for district cooling services provided by Empower, which explains the huge growth in the portfolio of projects benefiting from the company’s environmentally friendly services from its inception.

He also emphasized that the increase in the number of buildings benefiting from Empower’s services reflects the company’s efforts and commitment to provide efficient district cooling services by using revolutionary technologies, as per the highest international standards and best practices.
