Dubai: “Surviving 2020” is a virtual art exhibition conceptualised by Selfie TV & w2w events & PR; in an effort to offer a platform for talent to showcase their creations amidst the pandemic. The series of artworks will be exhibited online from 29th of December 2020; the artworks will be formatted into a 3:00 min video on Selfie TV’s online channel and social media platforms.
“The theme and premises of the show is to highlight the significant changes that this year has brought about amongst people; whether it’s a new piece of music, animation, photography, painting, sketch, comic art, sculpture, masks, fashion apparel, jewellery, poetry or ceramics. We welcomed all entrees for this show. This pause and time to introspect and reflect has resulted in an explosion of creativity!” says Sahar Mahmud – Founder of Selfie TV
The show received an overwhelming response from the global artist community; artists hailing from Canada, India, Palestine, Pakistan, Russia, Iran and UAE are represented in “Surviving 2020”. The shortlisted artists include, Azam Sadeghi, Birjees Hussain, Saima Hasan, Sree Lakshmi, Marina Potapova, Masooma Rizvi, Tayyaba Aziz, Kim Oberoi, Nayma Yasir, Sarah Khanzadeh, Urvi Pandya, Amruta Ketkar, Mina Dasani, Anya Akhtar and Sana Kiblawi.
