101domus is highlighting six Italian ateliers of luxury sideboards, bookcases and display cabinets for clients and design professionals in the Middle East, where majlis, formal dining rooms, hotel suites and private libraries call for storage furniture with real presence. The selection comes from a new 101domus English-language guide, which compares the makers by material and construction rather than by rank.
The guide is part of 101domus’s editorial work for international markets, including the Middle East, where the platform has reaffirmed its partnership with INDEX Saudi Arabia 2026.
Sideboards in walnut, metal and marble. Medea 1905, founded in 1905, builds the Juliet sideboard in dark Canaletto walnut with nubuck inserts, a marble top, and a base and handles in metal lacquered in matte gold or copper. Cantori sets the lacquered body of its Mirage sideboard on a base made from a single block of metal, hollowed and hammered inward; its side doors open onto an interior lacquered in a contrasting “Terra di Marocco” colour, and the top can be finished in marble.
Display and entertaining cabinets. Ceppi finishes the Cloe showcase in Canaletto walnut, with leather-covered doors and bronzed legs. Agresti combines wavy wood and polished brass in the Peninsula armoire, whose doors and fully opening top reveal a marble countertop with crystal glassware, a drawer with hygrometer and humidifiers, and a climate-controlled compartment, finished inside in leather and polished brass.
Bookcases built as architecture. Riva 1920 rests its Finesse bookcase on asymmetrical supports in curved wood covered in leather, with six thick walnut-veneered shelves. Morelato reinterprets the Biedermeier bookcase in clean lines, with modules that can be placed side by side or stacked into full storage walls behind wide sliding glass doors.
The guide notes that a hospitality buyer judges these pieces differently from a private client: one model may need to be repeated reliably across many suites or lounges, so finishes, top options and the made-to-order process matter as much as the silhouette. 101domus supports this process through a single point of coordination for Italian manufacturers, bringing together product enquiries, bespoke requests, technical information, production planning and international logistics.
