Abu Dhabi-UAE.November 2024: Active Abu Dhabi, a partnership between Emirates Foundation and PureHealth, the largest healthcare group in the Middle East, is calling on the wider community to make history and take part in a Guinness World Records™ attempt for most users to complete a remote 1 km walk in 24 hours. Powered by Pura, PureHealth’s AI-driven health companion, all residents and supporters are invited to join the effort, due to take place on Friday, 29 November 2024, and complete the challenge remotely.
The walking challenge is designed to be accessible and inclusive, uniting the community, promoting wellness, and showcasing the transformative power of technology in encouraging healthy lifestyles.
How to Participate:
The Guinness World Records™ attempt is entirely app-based, making participation accessible for all regardless of location. To join, participants will be required to:
- Download the Pura app (available on the App Store or Google Play).
- Click on the “Make History” button on the Pura Home screen.
- Register to participate in the event.
- On November 29, 2024, log into the Pura app again, click “Make History,” enable location services, and click “Start Attempt”.
- Walk 1km outdoors only in a continuous effort (approximately 30 minutes). Note: treadmill or any indoor walking will not qualify.
- Keep the Pura app open while walking. The app will automatically track the walk as long as the participant is outdoors and in continuous motion.
The Guinness World Records™ attempt aims to make wellness a collective goal, demonstrating the power of community and the positive impact of small, consistent steps. By participating in the event, each person helps foster a culture of health, wellness, and connection across the emirate and beyond.

Already embraced by over 140,000 users, the Pura app offers AI-powered health insights and challenges that make wellness both achievable and rewarding. As the only UAE app directly integrated with PureHealth’s healthcare network, Pura allows users to track their physical activity and adopt a proactive, data-driven approach to health.
Active Abu Dhabi, launched in March 2024, is a community-focused initiative offering activities that aims to elevate the holistic health of Abu Dhabi, preserve its culture and protect the environment.
