Set among sandstone mountains, lush oasis landscapes and more than 7,000 years of human history, AlUla offers a distinctive summer escape for travellers seeking culture, relaxation and adventure in one of Saudi Arabia’s most remarkable destinations. With lower humidity and cooler conditions than many regional destinations, the ancient oasis provides a refreshing setting for long weekends, family holidays and wellness-led retreats.
Enhanced seasonal connectivity now places AlUla within easy reach of key domestic and regional hubs. Running until 24th October, the updated schedule offers up to 18 weekly flights to AlUla International Airport, connecting the destination with Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Dubai and Doha through services operated by Saudia, flynas, flydubai, and Qatar Airways.
Saudia continues to connect AlUla with Riyadh and Jeddah throughout the week, while flynas will introduce additional services from Riyadh and Dammam from September. Internationally, flydubai links Dubai with AlUla up to four times weekly, while Qatar Airways will operate twice-weekly direct flights from Doha from 17 July, increasing direct connectivity between AlUla and one of the region’s leading aviation hubs.
Complementing the expanded flight schedule, AlUla’s hospitality offering has introduced a range of seasonal packages designed for different travel styles, from private villa escapes and wellness retreats to family-friendly stays and heritage-led experiences.
At Banyan Tree AlUla, guests can retreat to private pool villas set within the dramatic landscapes of Ashar Valley, with seasonal offers designed for travellers seeking privacy, wellbeing and understated luxury. Our Habitas AlUla is offering a summer package that includes complimentary daily breakfast and dinner, alongside a curated programme of wellness, music and creative experiences. For families and explorers, Shaden Resort provides preferred summer rates with easy access to AlUla’s sandstone canyons and outdoor adventures. In AlUla Old Town, Dar Tantora The House Hotel invites guests to experience a heritage stay rooted in the destination’s living history, with seasonal packages that pair boutique hospitality with access to one of Saudi Arabia’s most storied cultural districts.
Beyond its hotels and resorts, AlUla offers travellers a summer rhythm shaped by nature, culture and discovery. Visitors can explore the monumental Nabataean tombs of Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site; walk among ancient inscriptions at Jabal Ikmah; unwind in palm-shaded oasis settings; or experience the destination’s evolving dining, arts and wellness scene.
As evening falls, AlUla reveals another side of its summer appeal. The desert air cools, sandstone formations shift in the changing light, and the destination’s protected night skies create the perfect setting for stargazing experiences in locations such as Gharameel. Home to the world’s third-largest Dark Sky Park and ranked among the top 5% globally for natural darkness, AlUla offers visitors the chance to experience the Milky Way and constellations in remarkable clarity, far from the glare of city lights.
Whether arriving for a long weekend, a family holiday or a restorative wellness retreat, AlUla offers a summer escape defined by space, stillness and discovery — where ancient heritage, natural beauty and world-class hospitality come together in the heart of northwest Arabia.
