Aventa Anchors in the Kingdom to Drive Vision 2030’s Offshore and Hydrogen Ambitions

Riyadh, December 2025 – Aventa, the global engineering and subsea consultancy firm, expert in transmission and power grids, has launched its expansion into Saudi Arabia following a 12-day strategic immersion organized through Business France’s Booster Grow Global program. The mission enabled the French company to meet national energy stakeholders, giga-projects, and major industrial groups, laying the foundation for its long-term presence in the Kingdom.

Founded in 2010, Aventa has established itself as a trusted international player in the O&G, subsea engineering, offshore wind, both fixed and floating, and emerging hydrogen infrastructures. Its 300+ specialists work across four continents, supporting marine energy projects from early design to execution. Although new to the Saudi market, Aventa already has regional experience, having contributed technical expertise to Saudi Aramco projects through long-standing clients and supported the strategic Saudi Arabia–Egypt interconnection across the Red Sea.

Saudi Arabia’s Clean-Energy Ambitions Enter a New Phase

Saudi Arabia is accelerating its energy transition at unprecedented scale. The Kingdom aims to deploy 130 GW of renewable capacity by 2030 and is preparing its first major projects in Red Sea and Arabian Gulf waters. NEOM and the Ministry of Energy have already launched the country’s first offshore wind feasibility studies, marking the emergence of a new technical ecosystem that will require advanced engineering capabilities.

Investment in grid interconnections is also rising, with more than $30 billion expected across the GCC by 2030. The $1.8 billion Saudi Arabia–Egypt submarine link stands as one of the region’s most strategic corridors. Meanwhile, hydrogen is becoming a central pillar of the Kingdom’s energy strategy, with a target of 4 million tonnes of green hydrogen per year, supported by the $8.4 billion NEOM Green Hydrogen Project, which will rely on coastal and marine infrastructure.

Within this momentum, Aventa’s selection for the Booster Grow Global program reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing demand for experienced international partners able to support the next generation of strategic energy projects, in particular in what comes to hydrogen and grid connections, Aventa’s core expertise.

We are honored to join the Booster Grow Global program in Saudi Arabia. This initiative represents a unique opportunity to contribute our offshore engineering expertise to the Kingdom’s ambitious energy transition. At Aventa, we see Saudi Arabia as a natural partner in building sustainable and innovative solutions for the future, fully committed to Vision 2030,” said Aurélien Zuccarini, Co-Founder of Aventa.

A Phased Strategy to Support Priority Sectors

Aventa is entering the Saudi market with a clear roadmap. Its initial focus covers cable system design, wind project engineering, floating technologies, hydrogen development, environmental and oceanographic studies, and field support-areas where the Kingdom is scaling rapidly. During the immersion, Aventa held targeted meetings with public authorities, EPC contractors, energy companies, and research institutions to gain a precise understanding of local needs and regulatory expectations.

In the short term, the company will provide tailored support for ongoing and upcoming projects while exploring pilot initiatives in wind, cable networks, and hydrogen concepts in the Red Sea. The next phase will center on building a local ecosystem through partnerships with Saudi companies, cooperation with universities and training institutes, and the creation of an engineering capability in-country. Over the medium term, Aventa plans to open a regional office in Riyadh and develop a dedicated team to support local projects.

Capabilities Aligned with the Kingdom’s Next Energy Frontier

Aventa offers a combination of skills rarely found within a single firm. Its expertise spans cable route design, wind project structures, hydrogen systems, naval architecture, environmental and geotechnical assessments, and offshore operations, delivered through its subsidiary Nerio. This integration of design and field execution allows Aventa to de-risk complex projects and support clients from planning to installation.

Internationally, Aventa has contributed to major developments such as Lightning Project in GCC, NeuConnect (interconnection between UK and Germany), Celtic Interconnector (interconnection between France and Irland), along with numerous Oil and Gas developments like Marjan and Zuluf in KSA. The company is also active in research and development, participating in joint industry initiatives focused on electrical networks at sea and early-stage hydrogen pilots.

A key priority for Aventa in Saudi Arabia is local value creation. Through its Aventa Academy, the company will train and mentor Saudi engineers, providing specialized technical skills and exposure to international best practices. It will also collaborate with universities and research institutes to support innovation and help develop a home-grown engineering ecosystem aligned with Vision 2030.
