Commvault SHIFT Roadshow Dubai 2025 Unlocks Cyber Resilience Strategies for a Cloud-First World
Event Spotlights Sovereign Cloud Solutions and Global Collaboration to Counter AI-Driven Threats, Reinforcing Data Sovereignty as a Business Imperative
Dubai, UAE : Commvault’s SHIFT Roadshow 2025, held at Dubai’s Museum of the Future on 17 April, convened cybersecurity leaders, C-suite executives, and technology innovators to address AI-driven threats and the imperative for sovereign cloud solutions. Under the theme “From Continuous Threats to Continuous Business,” the event featured actionable insights from Commvault executives, global partners, and industry pioneers, emphasizing collaboration and innovation to combat risks in an era of rapid digital transformation.
The day began with Yahya Kassab, Senior Director & General Manager, Gulf & KSA, Commvault, emphasizing collective action: “We believe that the community has to work together in this fast-moving economy to face all the threats that we are facing every year. We learn, we innovate, and we try to bring the innovation to the public, to our partners, and to our customers.”
“There is no country today that is not establishing data protection laws. There is no country in the world that is not establishing sovereignty rules when it comes to cloud,” said Mohammed Retmi, Vice President – Sovereign Public Cloud, Core42, reinforcing its significance. “So, it’s not a trend, it’s an obligation. If you don’t own and master your data, you are losing control of an important asset.”
Richard Gadd, Senior Vice President, EMEA, Commvault, highlighted the stakes of cybercrime: “Cyber Crime has become the biggest risk to global business, and with it, it’s become the biggest risk to the global economy, so much so that even the World Economic Forum has identified widespread cybercrime and cyber security as one of the biggest global risks.”
“One of the problems we made our mission when we made the shift towards cyber resilience is to come up with a blueprint for our customers, a journey map that starts off by mapping the risks associated with a lot of our clients,” said Ravi Baldev, Senior Director, Sales Engineering at Commvault, detailing the company’s risk-mapping approach. Linking the blueprint to execution, he emphasized the importance of observability, saying, “Observability is the most important but a highly underrated capability. If you’re able to observe and capture everything going on, from a data protection perspective, you’ve won half the battle.”
The event also highlighted partnerships with Microsoft, AWS, Pure Storage, and Core42, showcasing collaborative frameworks for hybrid cloud security and sovereign data compliance.
Fady Richmany, Corporate Vice President Emerging Markets at Commvault, closed the event with the event’s overarching key message: “Shift from hoping and praying to testing, testing and testing. Be ready, be prepared and be proactive.”
As digital landscapes evolve at breakneck speed, the SHIFT Roadshow 2025 served as a pivotal call to action: only through relentless innovation, cross-sector collaboration, and sovereign-first strategies can businesses.
