International design honour highlights Corning’s commitment to scalable, high-performance FTTX network solutions

BERLIN – Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW), one of the world’s leading innovators in glass, ceramics, and optical physics, today announced that it has won the prestigious iF Design Award 2026 for the Corning Evolv® Openable Terminal. Presented by iF International Forum Design GmbH, one of the world’s oldest independent design institutions, this globally acclaimed award recognizes excellence in design and innovation.

The Evolv Openable Terminal (EOT), which supports the advancement of next-generation, high-performance broadband networks, earned the award in the Product Design discipline within the Telecommunications category. The distinction places Corning among the top entries in a highly competitive field of nearly 10,000 submissions from 68 countries, underscoring the global significance of the recognition.

“Receiving the iF Design Award for our Evolv Openable Terminal validates our ongoing commitment to developing innovative fiber optic solutions that combine performance, flexibility, and ease of installation,” said Kevin Parker, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Optical Connectivity Solutions, Corning Optical Communications. “Thoughtful design plays a critical role in helping network operators deploy and scale FTTX networks faster and more efficiently.”

Part of Corning’s Evolv platform, EOT is a compact, durable, and elementsproof solution designed to simplify fiberoptic network deployment. Featuring Corning’s patented Pushlok® plugandplay technology, the terminal delivers fast, secure, and toolfree connectivity.

Its innovative 2in1 design combines hardened connectivity and splice functionality in a single IP68rated terminal, eliminating separate closures and enabling reliable network extensions in challenging environments.

Designed for a wide range of FTTX applications, EOT offers robust environmental protection, high port density, and efficient use of existing infrastructure. With streamlined installation, EOT helps reduce total cost of ownership and accelerate broadband rollouts.

The award will be officially presented during the iF Design Award Night on April 27 at Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin.
