Winners received a trip to Sri Lanka and hotel stays at the five-star resort
Abu Dhabi, UAE: The first orange hued rays of sunrise painted the sky and birds chirped as 25 golfers teed off at 6:30am at the 2nd Annual Danat Classic Golf Tournament presented by Danat Jebel Dhanna Resort, held at Al Dhafra Golf Links, Ruwais.
Six beginners and 19 intermediates and advance golfers had a shotgun start in the 9-hole sand course overlooking panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. As the sun above kept blazing like Titan’s fiery wheel in the sky, the golfers enjoyed their friendly match on the links despite the scorching heat.
The tournament was followed by an awarding ceremony attended by participants of the tournament and their families. Held at the hotel premises, the night ended with a sumptuous dinner and live entertainment at Tides, an all-day dining restaurant.
The winner of the tournament Dipak Sunar walked away with a round trip ticket to Sri Lanka while the second place was bagged by Babar Manzoor who took home a weekend stay at the resort’s recently opened beachfront chalet with elegant contemporary details and a private patio offering scenic views of the clear azure waters. Mark Moreno placed third winning an overnight stay at one of the resort’s luxuriously designed deluxe rooms.
