| “Funoon Bil Arabi” Returns: Miral Celebrates Arabic Language on Yas Island
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, December 2025: Miral, the leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences in Abu Dhabi, has announced the second edition of “Funoon Bil Arabi”, inviting the community to celebrate the beauty and intricacies of Arabic culture and language. This year’s community event will take place on Yas Island at Etihad Arena Plaza from 22nd – 23rd December, 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Organised in partnership with Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), and Image Nation Abu Dhabi, the two-day event will celebrate Arabic Language through a variety of creative and educational experiences; and falls within the arts and culture pillar of Miral’s Group CSR Strategy. The event is free for everyone to attend and includes engaging Arabic workshops, interactive storytelling sessions and captivating entertainment for visitors of all ages. This year’s Funoon Bil Arabi will also feature exciting and interactive Arabic-inspired art workshops. Visitors can shape Arabic letters from clay, personalise tote bags with calligraphic designs, and create colourful mosaic artworks using Arabic typography. A creative “Tale & Sketch” workshop by author Thiba Sharaf will ignite imagination through joyful storytelling and drawing. A new edition to this year’s event includes educators from SeaWorld® Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, and Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, who will introduce marine-themed Arabic activations aimed at educating visitors about the Arabian Gulf’s ecosystems, conservation, and local wildlife. Visitors can also enjoy a curated selection of Arabic films at this year’s Movie Night by Image Nation as well as live Qanun performance, authentic Oud performances, a henna station and a lively puppet show. World Arabic Language Day recognises the significance of Arabic as one of the six official languages of the United Nations. Established in 2012, it marks the 1973 adoption of Arabic by the UN General Assembly, acknowledging its global importance and contribution to cultural diversity. Funoon Bil Arabi will take place on Yas Island at the Etihad Arena Plaza from 22nd – 23rd December from 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm and is free to attend.
