Dubai–UAE:November 2024 – The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) concluded the second edition of the Industrial Technology Transformation Index (ITTI) Global Certification Program. The initiative is part of the UAE’s effort to train ITTI assessors, share knowledge, and scale up digital transformation journey in the industrial sector globally.

Held in Dubai from 19-21 November, the program hosted trainees from eight countries, including Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, India, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Ireland, and Romania. The participants will become representatives for Industry 4.0 and sustainability, certified to help lead industrial transformations in their respective regions.

His Excellency Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of MoIAT, said: “In line with Operation 300bn, MoIAT is enhancing the UAE’s position as a global hub for industry. By collaborating with our partners, we provide industrial companies with various benefits and enablers as part of the nation’s attractive business environment. This includes competitive financing and investment opportunities in future industries, thereby promoting sustainable industrial growth, supply chain resilience, and production localization.”

HE Al Suwaidi added: “The technological transformation of the industrial sector enhances operational efficiency and productivity. The ministry educates ITTI assessors on global best practices to help position the UAE as a leading regional center in Industry 4.0. The training program unifies index assessment practices, fostering cooperation between the UAE and partner countries.”

The trainees were briefed on all ITTI dimensions, including I4.0 strategy and governance, and studied case examples to understand how the index drives sustainability, efficiency, and competitiveness across the industrial value chain. As part of the second cohort, the trainees visited the Nestlé factory in Dubai to be introduced to the ITTI framework, showcase the success story of the index being deployed on-ground. In addition, apply the knowledge gained in practice to assess the factory’s digital maturity and provide recommendations to enhance performance and operational efficiency.

Launched in 2023 as part of the Technology Transformation Program, the ITTI is the region’s first comprehensive tool for measuring technological maturity in the industrial sector and guiding effective digital transformation.

The program aims to increase the adoption of 4IR technologies, enable industrial companies to create a technological transformation map, and unify evaluation practices, ultimately enhancing global partnerships.

Held in June 2024, the first edition of the ITTI Global Certification Program was attended by 22 professionals from nine countries, including Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, Rwanda, India, Malaysia, and East Timor.
