- Brasseur brings more than 20 years’ LNG trading, origination and portfolio-management experience across the Atlantic, Middle East and Asia
- Appointment supports OQT’s growing LNG portfolio and international trading ambitions
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Monday,September ,2026: OQT, Oman’s global commodity trader, has appointed Emmanuël Brasseur as Head of LNG in its Dubai office.
Brasseur joins OQT from Castleton Commodities International, where he served as Executive Director, Global LNG Physical. He brings more than two decades’ experience in LNG trading, origination and portfolio management across the Atlantic, the Middle East and Asian markets.
The appointment accelerates OQT’s push to grow its LNG portfolio and build genuine origination depth across the world’s major LNG markets. LNG sits at the centre of OQT’s commodity strategy, alongside crude oil, refined products, petrochemicals, and fertilisers. With significant new liquefaction capacity expected to come online globally through 2030, OQT sees a structural opportunity to grow its presence across the full LNG value chain, from supply origination and freight optimisation to the development of longer-term offtake relationships in Asia, Europe and emerging import markets.
Brasseur has previously held senior roles at JERA Global Markets, Diamond Gas International/Mitsubishi, Eni Trading and Suez Group/Distrigas. At JERA Global Markets, he led the Atlantic Basin optimisation of an asset-backed portfolio with capacity exceeding 30 MTPA.
Brasseur will lead OQT’s LNG business across the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Atlantic Basin. His remit includes portfolio development, trading, optimisation and the origination of new supply and offtake relationships.
As the trading arm of OQ, Oman’s integrated national energy company, and part of the wider Oman Investment Authority group, OQT combines the backing of a national energy platform with the independence and commercial discipline of an international trading house. Over the past two decades it has built an integrated multi-commodity platform, with LNG now a key pillar of its growth strategy for the decade ahead. Brasseur’s appointment is part of a broader effort to build world-class trading teams and deepen OQT’s relevance as a counterparty of choice for producers, offtakers and portfolio players across global energy markets.
Wail Al Jamali, Chief Executive Officer of OQT, said: “Emmanuel’s appointment marks an important step in the development of OQT’s LNG business. He brings a sought-after combination of commercial, portfolio and origination experience across the world’s major LNG markets. As we expand our LNG portfolio and global partnerships, he will help us build the capabilities needed to serve our ambitions as a leading global commodity trading house.”
Emmanuel Brasseur, Head of LNG at OQT, said: “OQT combines an asset-backed foundation with a trading mindset, an established credibility in the industry with the ambition to build a globally connected LNG business. I look forward to developing the portfolio, strengthening relationships with counterparties, and helping to build the next phase of OQT’s LNG platform.”
