Pfizer Renews Commitment to All Patients During Third Annual Patients in Focus Week

 As part of their ongoing commitment to patients, this week, Pfizer is hosting their third annual global event, Patients in Focus, to recognize the impact that patients have on their work, renew their commitment to putting patients at the center of all they do, and feel the #Joy that comes with helping others live healthier lives. In line with Pfizer’s new ambition to Change a billion lives a year, this year’s theme is “All in for All Patients”. Signifying Pfizer’s ongoing commitment to putting patients at the center of all they do, this year, they are “all in” on patient centricity. While this event is only a week-long, Pfizer’s commitment to patients is year-round and central to the work Pfizer does every day.

“We are made up of many local markets and differing functions, but our Purpose at Pfizer is global: to develop breakthroughs that change patients’ lives,” said Sally Susman, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Pfizer. “For our work to be meaningful, we must be “all in” on patient centricity. That’s why our 2023 Patients in Focus theme is “All in for All Patients”. Through constant innovation, collaboration, and drive, we will strive to be “all in” to deliver the best care and most ideal health outcomes for patients worldwide.”

Throughout the week, Pfizer’s Gulf office will demonstrate their commitment to patients through an interactive panel discussion joined by advocacy and academia leaders from across the region emphasizing the impact of partnerships and importance of including patients’ perspective in all aspects of Pfizer’s’ work. Colleagues from across Gulf countries will join the patient panels along with community volunteering initiatives, to name a few.

Pfizer Gulf Cluster Country Manager Dr Parmjot Bains shared, “In line with Pfizer’s new ambition to Change a billion lives a year, we must be all in on patient centricity. Patient centricity exists at Pfizer when we listen and learn from the patient perspective, acting as partners with accountability and integrity, to deliver outcomes that matter most to patients and those involved in their care.”

“Patients are our North Star, and patient-centric initiatives are woven throughout our organization to ensure we’re doing all we can to meet patients’ needs. Each day we continue to build trusted, equitable, and bidirectional relationships with patients, governments and patient advocacy organizations to make sure patient voices are heard and amplified as we work to discover, develop, and deliver breakthrough medicines and vaccines”, she added.

Patients in Focus highlights examples of successful patient engagement and advocacy and helps ensure all Pfizer employees have the knowledge and resources to incorporate patient voices into their work. This effort, led by Global Patient Advocacy Leads across the organization, provides momentum toward Pfizer’s goals of being the most patient-centric company and improving health equity.
