Citizens of the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait & Qatar who are intending to visit the United Kingdom for a period of six months or less are able to get an access to the UK through electronic visa waiver.
The EVW for the United Kingdom can be obtained between 6 months and 48 hours before departure.
What is EVW?
The EVW is a UK electronic visa waiver, it allows its holder to visit and stay in the UK for up to 6 months for business, Study, Tourism or medical treatment. it can be applied for fully online. The entire procedure takes only a few minutes. Applications can be filed from the convenience of one’s own home or workplace.
Requirements for EVW
Unlike the regular UK visa process, any national from UAE, Oman, Kuwait & Qatar can apply with a valid passport, an address in the UK where he is planning to stay and details of the journey, including departure and arrival dates and times by filling up a simple online form, and the EVW will be sent to the applicant email address within 24 hours.
It’s worth noting that each person traveling needs their own EVW with a separate application, including children.
EVW holders will be required to show their EVW when they travel to the UK. It can be printed or shown on an electronic device, such as a phone or tablet.
Despite being a quick and easy way to get access to the UK, EVW can’t be used to work, get married or register a civil partnership in the UK
The EVW will only allow its holder to enter the United Kingdom for one time. In order to return to the UK, the applicant will have to get another EVW or a visa.
In case of changes to travel plans like travel time (more than 8 hours later than planned) or arrival airport, port or train station, applicant will need to update his or her EVW travel details.
