Dubai, UAE: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai on Tuesday celebrated Founding Day, marking the creation of the first Saudi state nearly three hundred years ago.
The celebration was marked through various exciting activities at the Saudi Pavilion, including the screening of a video showcasing Saudi Arabia’s remarkable history in the Pavilion’s Open Square.
Visitors were also given the opportunity to explore the country’s rich history through a striking photo gallery display, along with traditional performances such as the traditional Ardah dance.
In addition, traditional tents were set up at the Pavilion’s Open Square where guests were served freshly brewed Saudi coffee along with some of the finest dates sourced from across the Kingdom’s various regions.
The first Saudi state was established by Imam Muhammed bin Saud in 1727 in the city of Diriyah, to the northwest of Riyadh.
The Saudi Founding Day differs from National Day, which is celebrated on the 23rd of September every year on the occasion of the announcement of the establishment of present-day Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by the founding King Abdulaziz bin Saud in 1932.
