The latest edition of the female-led initiative brought together creators to learn how composition, framing, and movement can transform everyday content into compelling visual stories
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 22 June 2026: Sony Middle East and Africa brought together aspiring and established female creators for the latest edition of Alpha Femme, its learning-led initiative designed to support women across photography, videography, and content creation. Held on 20th June 2026, at Garage Studio in Al Quoz, Dubai, the workshop explored how intentional creative choices behind the camera can elevate both photo and video content into more cinematic and emotionally engaging visual stories.
Led by visual creator Alina Fedina, the session, titled “Alpha Femme – Think Like a Director: Composition Tricks Creative Lab,” introduced participants to the foundations of cinematic visual storytelling. Through a combination of visual examples, film frame analysis, live demonstrations, and practical exercises, attendees explored how composition, framing, movement, perspective, and camera angles can influence the way a story is communicated to an audience.
Designed for creators of all experience levels, the workshop encouraged attendees to look beyond technical camera settings and develop a stronger understanding of visual structure and storytelling. Throughout the session, attendees explored a range of Sony gear, testing out creative techniques commonly used across videography, photography, and commercial content creation, while learning how to apply these principles to their own work.
The hands-on format allowed attendees to immediately put theory into practice, experimenting with different approaches to composition and movement while gaining practical insight into creating stronger imagery through both photography and video.
Speaking about the initiative, Jason Rego, Head of Digital Imaging, Sony Middle East and Africa, said, “Alpha Femme was created to bring together women who are passionate about visual storytelling and provide opportunities for them to learn, connect, and develop their creative skills. Through these workshops, we aim to support female creators at different stages of their journey by giving them access to knowledge, practical experience, and the tools they need to explore new creative possibilities. We believe that when creators have access to the right technology and learning opportunities, they are better equipped to tell meaningful stories and continue growing their craft.”
Alpha Femme continues to bring female creators together across the Middle East and Africa through a series of workshops and educational experiences designed to support creative development and hands-on learning, with the next session scheduled for 18th July 2026. Creators interested in participating in upcoming Alpha Femme workshops can stay informed by registering on Alpha Universe, Sony’s platform designed to educate, inspire, and connect the creator community.
