On 15th of May 2024 WOW!HR GCC Conference came to Dubai for the first time. The event gathered CHROs, HRDs and HR experts from GCC and CIS countries. Participants discussed latest issues within HR industry and exchanged their experience to find the best solutions for the challenges they are facing. JW Marriott Hotel Marina became a venue for the event.
Host of the conference – Founder and CEO of WOW GROUP, international HR expert – Goar Ananyan noticed: “We see how transparent experience exchange helps to develop countries’ economies. All of us have almost the same problems, but we apply different approaches to solve them. Transparent exchange of tools, knowledge and experience lets us achieve necessary results”.
She also announced the beginning of application process for upcoming WOW!HR GCC Award later this year. “We entered GCC market and brought our activities and events to support regional HR community. We believe that our products lead the way for further industry development. Today the application process for WOW!HR GCC Award begins”.
A lot of deep insights and compelling ideas were announced during a panel discussion. Dinara Yarulina (Danone, Kazakhstan), Maan Fatani (Mepco Group, Saudi Arabia), Farooq Al Tubi (Al Rawahy Holdings, Oman) and Reema Akhtar (Seer Solutions, UAE) took part in it. They answered the questions about adapting to technological changes, managing remote work, workforce diversity and many others related to global HR challenges.
Speakers from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Kazakhstan delivered their presentations and speeches on the most buzzing HR-questions.
Speakers from Kazakhstan spoke about the situation in Central Asia. Dinara Yarulina pointed out 2 steps of building HR strategies in Danone: first to understand business strategy and only after that define people strategy. Anastassiya Kruch from ERG suggested creating strong educational basis for future talent development.
Farooq Al Tubi and Syed Farhan Aziz spoke about building corporate culture in GCC, but each had his own experience and opinion. Mr. Farooq uses in his practice perceptual intelligence, while Mr. Farhan says that the key is to set right company values to change its culture.
Namrata Bhatia from NMDC Energy shared effective strategies of employee retention strategies. One of the solutions she offered is to achieve a healthy work-life balance which is crucial for employee retention in the UAE and GCC.
Reema Akhtar touched upon an important problem of women empowerment. She spoke about causes of women discrimination at work and taught the audience how to overcome it.
Maan Fatani shared his knowledge on how to reach “HR WOW effect”. According to him shocking and exciting people has the effect of attracting attention, but for development to really take place it must be complemented by decisive knowledge combined with experience.
P2P mentoring sessions gained ground and became a remarkable part of the event. These sessions allowed the guests to get individual consultations on their HR cases from top HR specialists and executive coaches. Thanks to the hard work of mentors P2P mentoring sessions format received a lot of positive feedback.
WOW!HR GCC Conference became the space for transparent experience and knowledge exchange. It was of high value for both speakers and guests. Active networking helped people to get to know each other better and set up strong connections between the participants.
