101domus Outlines How Gulf Hotels and Venues Source Italian Furniture, From Dubai to Doha

19

101domus has published a guide to Italian furniture for hospitality projects, with a strong focus on the Gulf, a priority market for the company. Written for developers, general contractors, interior designers and FF&E consultants, it explains how a hotel or venue can be furnished with Italian craftsmanship without managing a dozen separate suppliers, since one property rarely works with a single maker.

101domus is a partner of INDEX Dubai and official media partner of INDEX Saudi Arabia 2026, and its projects area lists installations across the region, from the UAE and Qatar to Saudi Arabia, Oman and Jordan.

According to the guide, hospitality projects move in stages: designers and FF&E teams write the specification, Italian manufacturers develop custom or semi-custom pieces against approved drawings, and production, export paperwork and delivery are timed to the opening date.

Projects in Dubai and Doha. At Raffles The Palm Dubai, a palace-style hotel on Palm Jumeirah, Francesco Molon supplied the furniture for the whole property, from guest suites to the lobby, lounges and restaurants: according to the project page, about 70,000 hand-carved pieces in solid wood, finished with gold and silver leaf, marquetry, silk and velvet. Borzalino furnished majlis lounges and meeting rooms at Dubai Chambers, making its Ben sofas in a custom version with a 57 cm seat depth. In Doha, DFN designed the cabanas of the Sushisamba beach club as engineered structures, with structure, lighting and furniture developed together, and also worked on the Orangerie at Katara Village.

Collections for every space. For lounges, restaurants and cafés, the guide points to contract collections such as the Principessa lounge by Mobilpiù Luxury, while DFN’s outdoor collections also furnish beach resorts in Europe.

The guide advises agreeing maintenance, spare parts and repair routes with manufacturers before the order, and confirming in writing how outdoor frames, fabrics and finishes are specified for sun, salt and sand. At Raffles The Palm, the hotel keeps a 200 m² workshop on site to maintain its collection.

101domus coordinates more than 100 Italian manufacturers under one contract, from specifications and bespoke development to production planning, export documentation and international logistics.
