9th ART Fertility Conference Concludes in Abu Dhabi, Showcasing Next-Generation IVF Innovations and the Future of Fertility Care

12

The 9th ART Fertility Conference concluded in Abu Dhabi, bringing together leading reproductive medicine specialists, researchers and healthcare professionals to examine the latest scientific advances shaping the future of fertility care. Featuring 19 specialised presentations and attracting 532 attendees, the conference was a resounding success. It explored emerging IVF technologies, personalised treatment approaches and the growing role of evidence-based innovation in improving patient outcomes.

Artificial intelligence and laboratory automation featured prominently in discussions as well as their potential to reshape the future of IVF, from AI-assisted embryo assessment to emerging microfluidic technologies that could transform laboratory precision and efficiency. Experts examined both the opportunities and challenges of integrating these innovations into clinical practice, emphasising the need for robust scientific validation to ensure their safety, reliability and meaningful impact on treatment outcomes. Since its inception in 2015, the conference has set a benchmark for assisted reproduction conferences in the region, fostering scientific exchange and bringing together experts to advance the field.

Across its programme, the conference reinforced the importance of bridging scientific discovery and clinical application, ensuring that emerging innovations translate into meaningful improvements in fertility treatment and patient care.

Commenting on the conclusion of the conference, Prof. Dr. Human Fatemi, Group Medical Director, ART Fertility Clinics. “Scientific excellence goes beyond contributing to global research; it requires generating knowledge locally to better understand the geographical, genetic, environmental, and demographic factors influencing infertility and to develop more personalized, evidence-based treatments. Over the past 12 years, we have helped establish Abu Dhabi as an international centre of excellence in reproductive medicine, caring for more than 45,000 patients, helping bring over 4,000 babies into the world, and contributing over 268 peer-reviewed publications and 100 scientific presentations at leading international conferences, including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).”

Prof. Dr. Fatemi further added, “Our mission is to bridge clinical practice and scientific discovery, translating research into better patient outcomes while advancing reproductive medicine worldwide. We remain firmly committed to a simple principle: science must guide clinical practice, innovation must be driven by evidence, and every advancement must ultimately serve our patients. This is how we help science assist nature.”

The conference examined advances in embryology and the biological mechanisms influencing successful implantation, including the synchronisation between embryo development and the endometrium, commonly known as the window of implantation. Experts also explored the role of uterine immune cells in early pregnancy and emerging genetic approaches, including the potential of whole-exome sequencing to investigate complex cases of unexplained implantation failure.

By convening international expertise and advancing dialogue on the next frontiers of reproductive medicine, the 9th ART Fertility Conference reaffirmed the importance of research-led, locally informed and patient-centred approaches to fertility care in the UAE and beyond. The 10th edition will take place under the IVI Fertility name, continuing the conference’s legacy of advancing scientific knowledge and clinical practice in assisted reproduction.
