Abu Dhabi Fund for Development Delegation Visits the 22nd Liwa Date Festival

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – July 2026: As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting national initiatives that advance agricultural sustainability and preserve the UAE’s rich cultural heritage, a delegation from Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), led by H.E. Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD, visited the 22nd edition of the Liwa Date Festival, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, in Liwa City, Al Dhafra Region, Abu Dhabi.

During the visit, the delegation toured the festival’s exhibitions and activities, which showcase initiatives and programmes dedicated to preserving the UAE’s agricultural heritage while enhancing the competitiveness of locally produced dates and supporting the long-term sustainability of the agricultural sector. The tour also included visits to the pavilions of participating organisations, the area dedicated to showcasing traditional crafts, as well as the heritage market and the children’s village.

The visit reflects ADFD’s continued dedication to supporting national initiatives that safeguard the UAE’s cultural heritage, strengthen food security and promote agricultural sustainability. It also underscores the Fund’s support for efforts that stimulate economic activity across the country, in line with the country’s sustainable development priorities.
