Dubai, United Arab Emirates – August, 2026: Lotus Cars has launched the Emira 420 Sport, the new flagship of the Emira range and the most powerful, lightest and most aerodynamically capable Emira ever built. The brand-new model will be represented in the UAE by AGMC, the official distributor for Lotus Cars across the country.
The latest evolution of the Emira earns the Sport title, a badge reserved for Lotus’ most focused and lightweight road cars. It joins a lineage that includes the Esprit Sport 300 and Sport 350, Elise Sport 220, Exige Sport 380 and Evora GT410 Sport.

Performance: more power, greater capability
At the heart of the Emira 420 Sport is a 2.0-litre turbocharged in-line four-cylinder engine producing 416 bhp (310 kW / 421 PS) and 500 Nm of torque. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission with revised calibration for faster, more intuitive shifts.
The result is a 0–100 km/h time of 3.9 seconds, 0–200 km/h in 12.47 seconds and a standing quarter mile in 11.91 seconds. Its 300 km/h top speed makes it the world’s fastest four-cylinder production car, while acceleration from 80–120 km/h takes 2.4 seconds.
Every element of the powertrain has been calibrated for immediate response, linear performance and precise control. Despite the increase in performance, the Emira remains a road car first, combining greater driver engagement with everyday usability. For circuit driving, the Lotus Track Pro app offers lap timing, predictive timing and synchronised video and telemetry analysis.
A lighter, sharper chassis
The Emira 420 Sport sits 5 mm lower than the standard Emira on a dedicated sports chassis. Revised suspension geometry sharpens turn-in and body control, while the lower centre of gravity creates a more connected driving experience.
The optional Lotus Lightweight Handling Pack introduces Multimatic two-way adjustable dampers, allowing compression and rebound to be tuned independently. The spool-valve architecture maintains consistent damping under sustained high-frequency loads while reducing internal friction, improving steering feel and chassis response.
The pack reduces weight by up to 25 kg through components including a titanium exhaust, lithium-ion battery and carbon fibre louvred tailgate. The exhaust saves approximately 9 kg, while the tailgate removes a further 4.9 kg from high in the vehicle, helping to lower the centre of gravity and improve weight distribution.
More downforce, without more drag
A redesigned front splitter, front bumper inserts, wheel-arch vents, extended side sills, enlarged side intakes and an extended rear lip spoiler work together to generate an additional 25 kg of downforce over the standard Emira, with no increase in drag.
Cooling has also been enhanced for sustained high-load driving. Airflow to the radiators increases by 15%, while airflow through the exhaust valve rises by 30%. A dedicated track configuration can further improve central-radiator airflow and front-brake cooling.
Performance made visible
For the first time on an Emira, customers can specify exposed exterior carbon fibre. The optional Carbon Fibre Pack applies the material to elements including the front splitter, wheel-arch vents, side sills, side intakes, rear lip spoiler and rear diffuser surround.
The launch colour, Tangelo Orange, continues Lotus’ tradition of distinctive orange finishes. New 15-spoke forged alloy wheels in satin dark grey, dark-tinted rear lamps and a choice of coachlines, wheel, brake calliper and exterior accent finishes provide further personalisation.
Inside, black Nappa leather is paired with perforated Alcantara, with an optional Tangelo Orange theme adding contrasting leather and stitching. Carbon fibre gearshift paddles and bespoke 420 Sport treadplates are standard, while an optional Interior Carbon Fibre Pack adds carbon finishes to the steering wheel spokes, driver display surround and seat-back plinths.
UAE availability
The Emira 420 Sport joins the Model Year 2027 range above the Emira Turbo, Emira Turbo SE and Emira V6 SE. A removable tinted glass roof panel is also being introduced across the wider Emira line-up. UAE pricing, ordering and customer-delivery details will be announced by AGMC in due course.
