Captivating Adventure Unveiled at Sharjah Performing Arts Academy’s Aladdin Jr. Show

United Arab Emirates, Sharjah – Sharjah Performing Arts Academy’s Children & Young Performers, in collaboration with the BTEC Level 2 Award Programme students, took the stage by storm on Sunday, June 18, 2023, with their spectacular production of “Disney’s Aladdin Jr.” The enchanting and detailed performance left the audience in awe as they embarked on a magical journey of adventure, romance, and dreams.

Under the masterful direction of Lynne Holloway, the show came to life in the Studio Theatre of Sharjah Performing Arts Academy. With a team of incredibly talented individuals, the show was a true testament to the Academy’s commitment to nurturing young performers.

The remarkable vocals of Kathleen Bell and Andrew William, accompanied by the stellar acting talents of Jessica Cotton, Saeid Abdelhamid and all the students brought the beloved characters to life on stage. The captivating dance routines, choreographed by Lynne Holloway and Mohammed Al Dashti, added a mesmerizing visual element to the production. The exceptional tutelage provided by Jessica Cotton, Rami Fahra, and Alia Khaled ensured that the performers were well-prepared to deliver their best. The casting team, video editing crew, and lighting and sound technicians included Chris Santillan, Drew Scott, Saeid Abdelhamid, and Steve Critchley, all who worked tirelessly to create a visually stunning and immersive experience for the audience.

“Disney’s Aladdin Jr.” is a musical extravaganza with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman, Tim Rice, and Chad Beguelin. The book, written by Chad Beguelin, is based on the beloved Disney film. The show pays tribute to the 2014 Broadway production of Aladdin, produced by Disney Theatrical Productions and directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw.

“Disney’s Aladdin Jr.” took the audience on a magical journey through the streets of Agrabah, where they witnessed the transformation of Aladdin, the street rat turned prince, as he battled the nefarious Jafar to win the heart of the beautiful Princess Jasmine. Along the way, they uncovered the secrets and humor of the mystical Genie, creating moments of laughter and wonder.

The talented ensemble cast of “Disney’s Aladdin Jr.” brought a magical energy to the stage. The performers, including Mia Cheikhrouhou, Bento Connsenzo, Seamus Power, Kiamaaya Rodrigues, Annapurna Varma, Eirini Katsos, Alice Power, Ella Mai, Lana Basma, Dana Osman, Abdul Haadi, Rushda Akram, Haneen Khan, Aleksandr Patrick Broan Haskell, Belle McFadyen, Zoey Chai, Majid Buali, Nandita Krishna Murphy, Claire Curabba, Gwendoline Leseigneur, Shaikha Al Qassimi, Rajah Al Qassimi, and Hamed Khan, all who delivered an unforgettable performance.
