The event saw over 500 registered participants in 64 teams competing under strict health and safety regulations for the winning trophy across five categories; 1000m Open, 1000m Women, 1000m Mixed, 300m Community Cup and 300m Corporate Cup.
The Challenge was hosted at the Marsa Plaza Creek-side Promenade and welcomed corporates, universities, schools, and community groups from across the UAE. Emirates Airlines grabbed the first place in the 300m Corporate Cup with Emirates NBD taking the first place in the 300 Community Cup. Team Atlantis 1 came first in the 1000m Open & Mixed categories followed by Barracuda Paddlers in the 1000m Women’s category.
Dubai Festival City has been actively encouraging visitors and residents to embrace healthy living with a number of events taking place in the destination as the weather cools down. The Dragon Boat Challenge was held as part of opening weekend of the Dubai Fitness Challenge to support the city’s agenda of promoting health and fitness. The event was supported by the Dubai Sports Council, Dubai Police, Dubai RTA and Dubai Municipality.
