dusitD2 kenz hotel Dubai, a 4-star contemporary hotel in Dubai (from a renowned international hospitality brand, Dusit International) had partnered up with the Emirates Red Crescent charity organization for a New Year’s 2021 Donation Drive initiative as part of its CSR programs for the year.

The campaign is designed to start the New Year 2021 in a good light as the year 2020 has taught the world a lot of things and a few take away from it would be, being compassionate and selfless. In general, last year has been a difficult year for everyone but even more challenging for some people. Therefore, to spread positivity and help those in need, the Marketing Department of dusitD2 has initiated a donation drive activity to begin the year with a good deed, believing that charitable acts such as these bring good tidings and great joy.

The Donation Drive ran from 1st Jan 2021 till the end of month – in cooperation with Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department. All employees at the hotel were encouraged to contribute in donating any tangible item form, like clothes specifically for winters, books, toys, shoes and bags, art/sports good, etc. 

In response to the success of the initiative and such positive spirit from the employees, Ms. Rabia Yousuf, the head of Marketing Department remarked, “We are delighted by the good turnout of employees who supported the noble cause.”

She added, “There are people from diverse backgrounds working at dusitD2 kenz hotel, supporting their families back at home, it was a great joy seeing these people be selfless and steadfast in giving charity.” 

DusitD2 also supported its employees by giving weekly groceries during the course of lockdown when the hotel operations were at halt due to the pandemic, that resulted in unpaid leaves. However, the management made sure that the staff’s necessities were taken care of when they were stranded in the accommodations.”

Mr. Bassam Zakaria, General Manager, said, “At Dusit, we take our role as community stewards seriously, and we are constantly indulging in CSR activities such as the dusitD2 for Humanity initiative where the hotel provided a one-month free accommodation for four individuals or families during the lockdown.

He added, “I hope this initiative would serve as a source of inspiration for others in the future. Helping people in need is the greatest form of kindness, helping even in the little form can contribute in transforming someone’s life. Indeed, coming together and uniting for a common cause can really make a huge impact altogether.”

A token of appreciation from the Dusit International was extended to all employees for their active participation in starting the New Year on a positive note.
