Reduce pump costs throughout the process of produced water management and save costs and resources

KROHNE, a world-leading manufacturer and supplier of solutions in industrial process instrumentation, recently took time out to showcase its market-leading instrumentation portfolio for managing produced water at the Aramco-hosted Middle East Produced Water Oil and Gas Symposium and Exhibition. Whilst engaging with the industry on this previously deemed wasteful byproduct, the company demonstrated its leadership in the space by offering leading technological solutions to measure and optimise the large amounts of water produced during the oil production process.

Throughout the water management process, from collection to transportation and injection, KROHNE’s OPTIFLUX electromagnetic flowmeters is able to reduce costs while providing peak levels of performance for operators. End users tend to look for solutions that facilitate accurate, reliable measurement, provide instrument diagnostics, and reduce cost to overcome challenges that arise while managing produced water during oil and gas production. Reliable electromagnetic flowmeter units avoid moving parts entirely to avoid wear and measurement inaccuracy due to drifting. These flowmeters, such as the OPTIFLUX portfolio, are full bore and do not require flow conditioners or strainers where some providers will require these additional elements, an unnecessary extra cost and complication.

OPTIFLUX flowmeters also synchronise free-of-charge alongside KROHNE’s OPTICHECK verification software, providing easy on site meter verification without requiring the meter to be removed from service. This combination of instrumentation and software provides real time diagnostic information, flow rates and totals, and conductivity information, which are all made available via Modbus and without significant downtime you might find in other solutions.

OPTIFLUX electromagnetic flowmeters are available in multiple models. The OPTIFLUX 2050 is designed for basic water and wastewater applications such as flow and conductivity measurement. It has multiple outputs and a choice of liners including hard rubber. The OPTIFLUX 4300 serves advanced process and custody transfer (CT) applications. A market leader for water injection applications, this model has achieved pressure ratings up to 2500 pounds. It supports all types of connections, from RF and FF to RTJ and Clamp, and more. With robust, fully welded construction, this model is approved for hazardous areas and well suited for demanding environments due to its corrosion resistant materials.

KROHNE’s product portfolio is one of few that has a long standing track record in industries such as oil and gas and water and wastewater treatment. The reliability and technology has been trusted by industry leaders for generations and continues to lead the line for durability and precision measurement. Whilst the best solution is often engineered to suit the end user specific needs, standard meter configurations are available for fast delivery, with an on-call service team on hand a must to ensure smooth, unrelenting results.

Ultimately the time taken in consulting experts in the field will save time and money down the (pipe)line and deliver the precise measurement and analytics you, the discerning end user, are always looking for.
