Dubai, UAE: Hala Badri, Director-General of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), visited the 14th edition of Art Dubai, the leading art exhibition in the region held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and in a strategic partnership with the Authority to enhance Dubai’s cultural scene and support local talents.

During her visit, Badri stressed the importance of this exhibition in strengthening Dubai’s position as a leading and safe regional and global destination for the arts as well as in reflecting the strength of the emirate’s artistic community and its capability to face all possible circumstances. Art Dubai represents an important sign of recovery for Dubai’s creative industries, and Badri’s visit affirms the Authority’s interest in the exhibition’s mission, especially as Art Dubai annually attracts creative artists from all over the world and tens of thousands of visitors, enhancing its position as one of the most important art exhibitions regionally and globally.

Badri toured the exhibition within its specially constructed space at the Gate building in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) that is welcoming 50 leading galleries in modern and contemporary arts from the UAE and 31 countries, in addition to the sculpture garden that embraces large-scale installations. The tour also included visits to the three major halls where the exhibition is being held and where the Director-General was briefed on the distinctive works of art and the various artistic trends reflected through them.

Badri confirmed Dubai Culture’s keenness to nurture and embrace distinguished local creative talents and to provide an environment that supports their growth and promotes their creative works on a global scale. To achieve these objectives, the Authority is also keen on strengthening cooperation with its partners in the creative sector, including with Art Dubai, to consolidate the emirate’s global cultural footprint.

This visit is part of Dubai Culture’s awareness of the importance of continuous communication with the local creative community and of the need to motivate its pioneers to continue their contributions of enriching Dubai’s cultural scene. It also aligns with the Authority’s updated strategy aimed at empowering creativity and innovators and enhancing the creative economy in the emirate, thus strengthening Dubai’s position as a global centre for culture, an incubator for creativity, and a thriving hub for talent.
