Loreal Jiles as Vice President, Research and Thought Leadership

Middle East: IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants), the association of accountants and financial professionals in business, has named Loreal Jiles as Vice President, Research and Thought Leadership. Jiles will lead global research initiatives and oversee IMA’s Committee on Academic Relations (CAR) and the IMA Research Foundation (IRF). She succeeds Raef Lawson, who admirably served in this role for nearly 12 years.

As Vice President, Research and Thought Leadership, Jiles will be responsible for advancing IMA’s position as a global thought leader in the management accounting profession and finance function. She brings her experiences delivering research and resources that enable the upskilling and strengthened value delivery of accountants and financial professionals in business as IMA’s Director of Research, Digital Technology, and Finance Transformation.

“I am very pleased to have someone with Loreal’s deep and unique blend of practitioner and research experience to be joining my senior leadership team,” said Jeff Thomson, CMA, CSCA, CAE, IMA president and CEO. “Loreal’s leadership of our research and thought leader initiatives will enable IMA to advance the profession and achieve our strategic goals in a disruptive business environment.”

Jiles has authored numerous IMA reports including, “An Agile Approach to Finance Transformation,” “Diversifying U.S. Accounting Talent: A Critical Imperative to Achieve Transformational Outcomes,” and “Transforming the Finance Function with RPA.” Her upcoming research will include a continued focus on digital technology and expanding IMA’s groundbreaking Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) research to encompass a global perspective and actionable solutions.

Jiles is a former member of IMA’s Global Board of Directors, current member of IMA’s Technology Solutions and Practices Committee, and staff liaison to IMA’s Committee on Academic Relations. She is certified as a Professional Scrum Master and holds an MBA from Tulane University and a B.S. in accounting from Southern University in Baton Rouge, La.
