Jumeirah Group Organizes its Annual Roadshow in Kuwait


Doumet: Tourism activities to and from Kuwait contribute to the Group’s growth

jumeirahKuwait: Jumeirah Group, the global luxury hotel company, held the first of its annual regional Roadshow events at Jumeirah Messilah Hotel & Spa in Kuwait, with the next stops in Riyadh, Jeddah and finally Doha. The Kuwait Roadshow event took place on Sunday 13 November, welcoming over 300 specialists in the travel trade industry, including tourism, hotels, tour operators, and travel agents as well as the Group’s prominent clients and media representatives. The Group revealed its latest growth and expansion developments internationally, highlighting recently inaugurated hotels, resorts and new facilities worldwide which draw Kuwaiti tourists.

Jad Doumet, Director of Global Sales at Jumeirah Group said: “We decided to commence our regional roadshow with Kuwait given the importance of this market for the Group. Kuwait is among the top five markets with tourists visiting Jumeirah Group’s hotels around the world. In addition, it also contributes to the growth of our Group’s business through bookings at Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa in Kuwait in light of the increased traffic to Kuwait, especially from around the GCC.”

“What distinguishes Jumeirah Group is its hotels and luxury resorts that offer unique experiences across three continents, which is what we have focused on through the event. The United Arab Emirates is one of the main destinations for visitors from Kuwait however, our hotels in other cities have marked an increase in Kuwaiti guests as well. The hotels include the Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan, as well as Jumeirah Dhevanafushi and Jumeirah Vittaveli Resorts in the Maldives. The Maldives Vittaveli recently launched the Royal villa which includes five bedrooms, specially designed to meet guests’ needs from Kuwait and the Gulf due to the privacy and luxury it offers,” he added.

With regards to expansion plans, Doumet explained: “The Group currently manages 5,500 hotel rooms across 21 hotels and resorts in 10 different destinations. We aim to open 25 new facilities, including 10 new hotels and resorts planned to open between 2017 and 2019. In addition, we will be upgrading and expanding facilities to ensure we attract new travelers and continue to provide exceptional experiences to our guests, such as the opening of the Burj Al Arab Terrace, which has already begun to attract tourists from across the GCC and from Kuwait in particular.”

The event included a variety of entertainment followed by a gala dinner, which was organised in cooperation with Emirates Airlines and Royal Caribbean International. The newest addition to the Jumeirah portfolio was highlighted during the event, Jumeirah Al Naseem in Dubai. The hotel name is inspired by the breeze of fresh air (which is Naseem in Arabic). Located across from Burj Al Arab on the longest stretch of private beach in the city, the hotel boasts 430 luxurious rooms and suites. It is scheduled to open on December 1, 2016 presenting its guests with the finest experiences in Madinat Jumeirah. It includes more than 10 restaurants and cafes, a private beach club as well as parks and green spaces.
