Closed-door session invited stakeholders to identify practical opportunities to strengthen capital deployment, risk sharing and market credibility
UAE, Dubai, October 2026: Majra – National CSR Fund convened the Impact Investment Lab at the 5th edition of Investopia Bridge in Abu Dhabi, which was inaugurated by His Excellency Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, and Chairman of Majra’s Board of Trustees. The session brought together key stakeholders for a focused dialogue on strengthening the impact investment ecosystem and unlocking greater flows of capital towards investments that deliver measurable economic, social and environmental impact.
As a key strategic partner of Investopia, Majra leverages the global platform to drive actionable conversations on impact investment, connecting policymakers, investors and business leaders to co-create market-ready sustainable solutions.
The Lab’s closed-door working session explored practical gaps across six priority areas: where impact capital currently stalls; definitions, taxonomy and disclosure; risk sharing and blended finance; governance and market credibility; priority sectors and investment opportunities; and the priorities and next steps for a potential federal framework.
The session forms part of Majra’s continued efforts to strengthen the UAE’s sustainable impact ecosystem by bringing together relevant stakeholders to identify market needs, explore collaborative opportunities, and translate dialogue into practical recommendations.
Sarah Shaw, CEO of Majra – National CSR Fund, said: “Impact investment has the potential to mobilise capital towards some of our most important economic, social and environmental priorities, but unlocking that potential requires more than ambition. It requires clarity, credibility and collaboration across the ecosystem.
“The Impact Investment Lab is about understanding where the practical barriers exist and bringing the right stakeholders together to identify how we can address them. Our focus is on translating these conversations into practical recommendations that can help create the conditions for greater investment activity and measurable, sustainable impact.”
Structured around facilitated roundtable discussions followed by an insights shareback, the Lab was
designed as a diagnostic working session rather than a conventional conference discussion. Participants were encouraged to identify where existing approaches are working, where gaps remain and where stronger alignment could help unlock further investment activity.
The Lab’s discussions also examined the potential role of a federal impact investment framework, considering where greater consistency and coordination could strengthen market credibility while responding to the practical requirements of investors and organisations seeking to deploy impact capital.
The outcomes of the Lab will help inform Majra’s continued engagement with stakeholders across the impact investment ecosystem, with a focus on developing practical recommendations, strengthening collaboration and supporting an environment in which capital can be mobilised more effectively towards credible and measurable impact in support of solutions that can contribute to long-term sustainable value and advance national priorities across the UAE.
