Dubai, UAE: Bloomberg today announced that Mashreq Capital (DIFC) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mashreq Bank PSC and a leading investment and fund management firm in the region, has adopted Bloomberg Fixed Income Indices as benchmarks across its fixed income product suite. The adoption covers the Mashreq MENA Fixed Income Fund, the Mashreq Al Islami Income Fund (Sukuk), and the Mashreq Global Emerging Markets Bond Fund, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to globally recognised, transparent, and robust benchmarking standards.

Amol Shitole, Head of Fixed Income at Mashreq Capital, commented: “As an existing client of Bloomberg AIM, Bloomberg’s leading order and investment management solution, Mashreq Capital utilizes Bloomberg’s integrated buyside technology to enhance portfolio construction, execution, and risk oversight. Our decision to further deepen this collaboration through the adoption of the Bloomberg Global Aggregate USD Sukuk Index reflects our continued focus on strengthening portfolio management and performance measurement through data-driven insights.”

Mashreq Capital noted that the selection of Bloomberg Indices for their fund benchmarking is driven by their ability to provide an objective and transparent representation of fixed income markets. The indices align closely with the firm’s investment strategies, particularly across MENA and emerging markets, where considerations such as liquidity, market depth, size, and accessibility are critical to effective portfolio construction and long‑term performance.

“Bloomberg Indices continues to be a trusted partner for its clients by providing solutions that are tailored to the demands of today’s global markets. We are pleased to expand Bloomberg’s relationship with Mashreq Capital to help the firm continue enhancing its investment capabilities,” said Nick Gendron, Global Head of Fixed Income Product, Bloomberg Index Services Limited.

The Bloomberg Global Aggregate USD Sukuk Index is a benchmark that tracks investment-grade, fixed-rate USD-denominated Sukuk bonds across treasury, government-related, corporate, and securitized sectors. Aligned with the methodology of Bloomberg’s flagship Global Aggregate Index, it applies additional Islamic finance screening criteria to ensure high-quality inclusion. The index provides investors with a transparent and standardized measure of the global Sukuk market, helping firms like Mashreq Capital make more informed investment decisions.

Bloomberg Index Services Limited provides an independent, transparent approach to indexing for customers across the globe.
