- Record visitor growth and rising interest from Saudi travellers strengthen Morocco’s appeal as an alternative summer destination
El Jadida, Setember, 2026: Wellness Morocco is gaining ground among GCC travellers as summer holiday choices expand beyond traditional European destinations, supported by record tourism growth, stronger regional interest and the country’s diverse mix of coastline, culture, gastronomy and family experiences.
Morocco welcomed a record 19.8 million tourist arrivals in 2025, up 14% year-on-year, while tourism receipts reached MAD 138 billion, increasing 21%. Momentum has continued in 2026, with 9.4 million visitors recorded during the first half of the year, up 6% compared with the same period in 2025.
Interest from the Gulf is also becoming more visible. Wego’s Summer 2026 data ranked Morocco among the five most-searched international destinations for travellers from Saudi Arabia, reflecting growing demand for destinations that combine accessibility, culture, leisure and value.
The trend comes as Morocco looks to the Middle East as an important source market in its drive to attract 26 million visitors annually by 2030.
On Morocco’s Atlantic coast, Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort reflects this broader tourism proposition.
