Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – September, 2026: Nike’s upcoming earnings will be judged on signs of a sustained recovery, rather than whether the company beats Wall Street’s headline forecasts, according to Josh Gilbert, Lead Analyst, APAC and Middle East, at etoro.
“Nike has repeatedly beaten earnings expectations, but that has done little to restore confidence in its turnaround. With shares trading around US$36, investors will be looking for evidence that new products are gaining traction, sales in China are stabilising and the return to wholesale can support growth without putting margins under pressure,” Gilbert said.
Analysts expect quarterly revenue of around US$11.34 billion and earnings of approximately US$0.44 per share. China remains a key concern: Nike’s Greater China revenue fell 17% on a currency-neutral basis in its most recent quarter. The company is also scaling back sales through third-party online retailers in the market as it seeks greater control over pricing and how the brand is presented.
“Pulling back from those channels may help Nike protect its brand, but it could cost sales in a market where demand is already weak. There are brighter spots: wholesale revenue grew 6% over the last fiscal year, suggesting relationships with retail partners are improving. CEO Elliott Hill now needs to show how those gains, alongside a stronger product pipeline, can translate into a more convincing recovery,” Gilbert added.
Nike is scheduled to report its fiscal first-quarter results on Thursday, 1 October 2026, after US markets close.
