The Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation PCFC, represented by the Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability Department at Department of Planning & Development – Trakhees, has conducted a joint inspection campaign in coordination with Dubai Municipality. The campaign targeted retail outlets specialising in nutrition supplements, health products and herbal remedies.
Conducted across several key commercial areas, including the Dragon Mart and International City, the campaign brought together inspectors from both entities. It focused on verifying establishments’ compliance with applicable health and regulatory requirements and identifying prohibited, unregistered or non-compliant products.
The necessary legal measures were taken against non-compliant establishments to curb the circulation of products that fail to meet approved standards and protect consumers from potential health risks.
The campaign forms part of PCFC’s proactive approach to strengthening field oversight, promoting regulatory compliance and enhancing the efficiency of inspections covering health products. It also highlights the importance of collaboration and integration with the relevant government entities in supporting a safe and reliable business environment in Dubai.
Eng. Abdulla Mohammed Belhoul, CEO of the Department of Planning and Development– Trakhees, said: “Joint inspection campaigns reflect the Corporation’s commitment to upholding the highest health and safety standards and ensuring that establishments comply with the regulations governing the sale and distribution of health products. These efforts help protect consumers and maintain the quality of products available in the market.”
He added: “Our continued collaboration with Dubai Municipality and our strategic partners strengthens regulatory oversight and enables us to identify violations and take the necessary action, thereby supporting a safe and sustainable business environment.”
Belhoul affirmed that PCFC would continue to develop its regulatory programmes and conduct joint inspection campaigns in line with international best practices, further enhancing market safety and fostering a culture of compliance among the establishments under its supervision.
