Mungwi, Zambia & Dubai, UAE: Insaka Cash, a recently registered Zambian micro-lender focused on low-income market traders and SMEs, has joined FasterCapital’s EquityPilot program to refine execution planning and improve access to appropriate financial products for underserved women traders and youth. FasterCapital will work with the founder to sharpen near-term priorities and connect the startup with relevant ecosystem stakeholders.
FasterCapital and EquityPilot at the center of an initial 30–60 day effort focused on execution milestones, operational planning, and market-fit work designed to make Insaka Cash Services more investment-ready and better positioned to serve market-based customers.
Access to small, flexible loans remains a barrier for many low-income market women traders and informal SMEs across Zambia. Market traders frequently rely on informal credit or personal savings to manage stock and cashflow, constraining growth and resilience. A locally focused microfinance provider tailored to these needs aims to address that persistent gap.
What the Startup Delivers?
Insaka Cash Services, registered in 2023 under the Money Lenders Act, provides loan products targeted at market traders and salaried workers (salary advance product for staff at employers with MOUs). The company emphasizes transparent terms, no cash collateral where applicable, and practical loan features designed to increase stock and working capital for small vendors.
Why Now?
Rising informal sector activity and continued demand for microcredit among market traders create an opportunity to develop locally rooted lending solutions. Insaka Cash Services intends to target an underserved segment low-income women traders and youth-led microenterprises, where tailored product design and community trust are crucial.
What FasterCapital Will Provide?
– Structured milestone planning and hands-on execution support
– Business model and product feedback focused on serving market traders
– Fundraising readiness guidance and pitch refinement where appropriate
– Connections to mentors, advisors, and relevant ecosystem stakeholders
First 30–60 Days:
The program will prioritize market validation of product features, operational process mapping, and a practical roadmap for customer onboarding. Activities include refining loan terms to fit trader cashflows, improving basic risk processes, and preparing investor-facing materials without implying funding is guaranteed.
Leadership Comment:
“Hesham Zreik, Founder and CEO of FasterCapital, said: ‘We’re excited to support Insaka Cash Services through EquityPilot. Our team will focus on execution milestones and connecting the startup with the right ecosystem stakeholders.’”
