The United Arab Emirates’ top communications specialists will converge at Critical Communications MENA (CCMENA) 2016, the fourth edition of the region’s biggest critical communications conference and expo running from November 7 to 8, 2016 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, to showcase the country’s steady growth into a leading critical communications market. Atlas Telecom, the regional technology arm of UAE telecom veteran Atlas Group, will lead the pack with a demonstration of the advanced capabilities of Tactilon Dabat, a smartphone and a full TETRA radio in one device.

Atlas Telecom, a full-service communications technology integration and security solutions company, will join an elite group of locally-based companies to share the UAE’s experiences in expanding its communications capabilities in line with UAE Vision 2021’s dependence on information and communications technology as a key enabler of local development.

Rashid Al Mutawaa, VP Chairman, Atlas Group, said: “Atlas Telecom will introduce the superior capabilities of Tactilon Dabat, a revolutionary device that combines mission-critical features such as resistance to shocks, water and dust with modern smartphone conveniences such a touch screen and front and back cameras. The ‘smart’ app-enabled broadband device has Android capabilities and special ergonomic properties and is backed by the world-renowned quality and integrity of the Airbus Defence & Space. Atlas Telecom is the exclusive reseller of Tactilon Dabat in the MENA region”.

Atlas Telecom will also provide valuable insights on the transition to Long-Term Evolution technology, the relevance of legacy and emerging TETRA-based and hybrid solutions, and local and national strategies for optimizing critical communications capabilities, among other core industry concerns.

Abdulaziz Al Shammari, Managing Director, Atlas International, said: “CCMENA 2016’s theme of an emerging era of broadband innovation is a perfect fit for our focus on Tactilon Dabat which marries the strengths of existing and future technologies to provide more effective methods of critical communications support. With more than 30 years of experience in the GCC markets, we have witnessed firsthand the growing role of critical communications in the development agendas of the region. The UAE has eagerly embraced cutting-edge technologies to achieve superior critical communications capabilities and has been very receptive of groundbreaking solutions such as Tactilon Dabat.”

“We are eager to share the country’s experiences and plans in the field and what Atlas Telecom can contribute and, of course, to learn more about how critical communications is evolving in the MENA region and around the world. This is just our second time to join CCMENA and yet we have forged strong connections with its visitors and exhibitors, so we expect an even more productive participation this time around,” commented Gerard Robinson, Chief Technology Officer, Atlas Telecom.

Critical Communications MENA 2016 is presented by the TETRA and Critical Communications Association under the patronage of H.E. Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Head of General Security for the Emirate of Dubai.
