RoSPA anticipates Middle East entries as 2023 Awards opens for entries

  • The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards 2023 are officially open for registrations
  • It is one of the most prestigious and recognised award schemes in the world
  • Changes for 2023:
  • New categories, including a falls prevention trophy
  • New headline sponsor: Croner-i
  • Bigger and better plans for face-to-face celebrations, including a prestigious gala dinner at the Address Dubai Mall.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) is pleased to announce that its 2023 Health and Safety Awards scheme is now open for registrations, and is encouraging entries from across the Middle East. This year, we are also proud to announce business information services company, Croner-I, as the awards’ headline sponsor.

The scheme will see the exciting introduction of the Berkeley Homes-sponsored Falls Prevention Trophy; an award open to all entrants. The accolade illustrates the dangers of falls in the workplace, which are commonplace in working lives across the world, so RoSPA is calling on businesses to show us what processes they have introduced to limit them.

Many businesses in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) have seen great success in previous award cycles, with 2022 being a highlight for Doha-based Qatar Power Company when they became winners of the Electricity Award, while the Transport Services arm of Emirates Group achieved Team of the Year (Middle East).

Collectively, the GCC saw strong participation in the awards last year, spanning the UAE, Jordan, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman, and RoSPA is hoping that widespread success will inspire even more businesses in the area to enter for the first time.

Achievements Director, Julia Small, said: “The RoSPA Awards offer a highly visible way of demonstrating a commitment to improving standards of workplace health and safety. Benefits include motivating and recognising in-house health and safety teams, gaining positive external recognition, and providing a benchmark for continuous improvement.”

A highlight of 2023’s Awards season will be a gala dinner which is to be held at the Address Dubai Mall, a centrally located venue that overlooks the Burj Khalifa. The prestigious celebration event, for 2023 award winners, will take place on Thursday May 4th 2023.

Errol Taylor, Chief Executive of RoSPA, said: “With new categories, and more opportunities to celebrate, the RoSPA Health and Safety Awards 2023 are now even bigger and better – and entries are open…. now!”
