Saudi Arabia is one of the fastest scaling data centre markets in the world, with live IT power growing 57% since 2024, placing the Kingdom joint fourth globally alongside Finland, according to Savills’ Impacts global thought leadership programme. The Kingdom’s rise comes as investment continues to flow into its digital infrastructure, in step with the wider ambitions of Vision 2030.
The Kingdom features alongside four other EMEA markets in the global top ten, Finland (3rd), Denmark (6th), France (9th) and Portugal (10th) — based on Savills Research analysis of data from DC Byte. Even so, overall capacity across all five of these emerging markets remains small by global standards, pointing to significant room for Saudi Arabia’s sector to scale further.

Within Saudi Arabia specifically, growth is being driven by government-backed digital economy initiatives and rising demand for AI and cloud infrastructure, as the Kingdom builds out the power, land and connectivity needed to support hyperscale and enterprise operators.
For context, the United States remains the dominant global market by data centre capacity at around 50GW of live IT power, followed by China, a reminder that despite its rapid growth rate, Saudi Arabia is still building from a comparatively small base.
