Sharjah Digital Department SDD, in collaboration with Shams AI Club at Sharjah Media City (Shams), hosted a specialised workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Media”. The workshop formed part of SDD’s ongoing efforts to develop its employees’ capabilities and strengthen their ability to apply artificial intelligence across different areas of work, supporting greater efficiency and higher-quality outcomes.
The workshop brought together employees working in media, marketing and design, focusing on developing their knowledge and practical skills in using AI tools to support content creation, enhance productivity and improve the quality of media outputs. The programme also highlighted opportunities to apply emerging technologies in ways that contribute to institutional performance and day-to-day operations.
H.E. Eng. Lamia Al Hosan Al Shamsi, Director of SDD, said that the successful adoption of artificial intelligence depends on having skilled professionals who can apply it effectively within the workplace. She noted that investing in employees’ digital capabilities is a key priority in ensuring that these technologies contribute to stronger performance, improved outputs and greater efficiency across government.
H.E. added: “SDD is committed to developing a work environment that keeps pace with technological advancements by investing in the digital capabilities of its employees. These capabilities are a key enabler of the Sharjah Digital Transformation Strategy 2026-2028, which focuses on building a more future-ready government, strengthening a culture of innovation, and empowering government professionals to apply emerging technologies in support of sustainable digital transformation.”
The workshop covered a range of topics related to the use of artificial intelligence in digital media, including the fundamentals and evolution of AI, language models, and AI applications in content creation, media and digital marketing. It also addressed prompt engineering, image and video generation, the ethical use of AI, and the skills required to keep pace with the future of work.
Through its practical focus, the workshop equipped participants with the knowledge needed to integrate AI tools into their daily responsibilities more efficiently and effectively.
