Pogačar and Gianetti presented with prestigious title in Abu Dhabi
In recognition of their continuing successes, both Tadej Pogačar and Mauro Gianetti were bestowed with the UAE Golden Visa in honour of their contribution to sport and the growth of cycling in the UAE.
Both were awarded the 10-year residence visa on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council in a ceremony given by Naser Yousef Al Zaabi, Communication office Director and Adel Saeed Al Yaqoubi, Communication Section Head (pictured above).
Since its launch in 2019, the UAE’s Golden Visa has been honouring the work of many skilled and talented individuals across fields including sports, science, culture and art.
Pogačar: “To be recognised in this way is a real honour for me and I’m very thankful for it. It feels like we are are doing something special for the country and when I come here and see kids starting to ride bikes it makes me very happy. If I can help to inspire people to get out and do sport then that’s something I can be proud of.”
Mauro Gianetti, CEO & Team Principal : “ The success we have achieved both on the international stage and here domestically in the UAE has been brilliant, so for Tadej and I to be honoured in this way is something very humbling. Personally I’d like to thank the Abu Dhabi Sports Council for their hard work and continued support as we move forward to promote the importance of cycling and sports as part of a healthy lifestyle together. “
