UAE’s Cleaning Sector Talks Tech as Automation and Apps Take Centre Stage

Automated laundry systems, Internet of Cleaning and other technologies showcased at the Middle East Cleaning Technology Week

34Dubai, United Arab Emirates: UAE’s cleaning sector is fast adopting automated technologies; this was evident from the latest technologies demoed at Middle East Cleaning Technology Week (MECTW) being held at Dubai International Convention Centre from 13 to 15 November 2016.

The largest event for the cleaning sector in the region, for the first time, hosted live demos for innovative products in the cleaning, car care and laundry sectors. A leading equipment provider in the cleaning and hygiene sector, Sealed Air Diversey Care showcased their all new platform ‘Internet of Clean’, which connects machines, dispensers, sensors, and other devices into a cloud-based computing system. Furthermore, Whiteline Conveyors demonstrated its new state-of-the-art suite of Automated Uniform and Locker Bag Storage and Retrieval Systems for the Laundry sector, whereas MKG (Laundry Restart) presented their ‘Laundry ReSTART system’, a software that provides a 100% online control of accounting, managing and marketing.

The Gulf Car Wash – Car Care Conference held on the first day of the event focused on app-based services, auto detailing best practices and knowledge sharing in the industry.  Mohammed Al Samhouri, Director- Operations & Business Development, Auto Millennium Group delivered the keynote address at the conference which hosted speakers from leading companies in the Car Care sector including R+M Suttner, Mosmatic AG, Ryko, Rami Trading Co and Tommy Car wash systems, as well as technology providers and industry analysts from RnR Datalex and Frosten & Sullivan.

“We are seeing technological advances in every vertical of the cleaning and hygiene industry, with companies focusing on reducing human labour, and aiming to increase efficiency in cleaning operations. To showcase these advancements, we have expanded MECTW to encompass new dedicated pavilions and product demos. We urge visitors and professionals in the cleaning, hospitality and hygiene, car care and laundry care industry to visit MECTW, through which we aim to unite industry experts, policy makers, product and service providers, and customers through trade shows, conferences and awards.”

Talking about their latest offerings, Yasir Bin Taiyab, Technical Manager, Green Mountains Environment and Transport Establishment, said, “We are introducing Oil Spill Response, Port Reception Services, NORM waste management, and Transboundary movement of waste specialised services through MECTW for the UAE market, in partnership with Poly Eco Group.”

Homam Hajer, Project Sales Manager, Oubari Gulf, which is a supplier of laundry and dry cleaning equipment in the gulf region, said, “This year, we aim to reach the decision makers in the hotel and hospitality as well as commercial laundry sector through MECTW. We are also proud to announce our unique Kandoora steam finishing service, which is gaining popularity in the region and is one of our speciality.”

Talking about their participation at MECTW, Mazen Abou Chakra, Export Sales Director, Karcher, said, “MECTW is an important part of Karcher’s branding strategy, and is an important platform to showcase how robust our innovations are for the region. We are launching B300 RI, this year, which is a two in one sweeping and scrubbing machine ideal for street cleaning and large parking lots, with it’s a high capacity diesel operation.”

The conferences on the second day will stage high-profile speakers from all over the world, representing reputed brand names  like  Intercare Ltd, Linencraft, Dubai Airports, Imdaad, Emirates Palace, Cofely Besix Facility Management, Alliance Laundry Systems International, Burnus General Trading L.L.C, and Natronic International Inc.

The MECTW, which kicked off on Sunday will conclude on Tuesday, is playing host to over 130 local and international exhibitors. A footfall of over 4000 attendees is expected over the three-day event, and visitors can also attend dedicated International Cleaning and Hygiene Conference and Gulf Laundrex – Linen Care conference happening as part the show.
