McKinsey & Company launches second edition of Qiyada Emerging Leaders program to upskill Emirati leaders

  • 20 Emirati leaders will embark on a one-year development journey to strengthen the skills needed to drive socioeconomic transformation
  • Qiyada Emerging Leaders program  supports Emiratization efforts to power future economic diversification

Dubai, UAE: Following a successful inaugural intake, McKinsey & Company has launched the second edition of the Qiyada Emerging Leaders program  – a one-year journey that aims to maximize the potential of top Emirati talent through a selection of forums, team building exercises, coaching sessions and leadership assessments.

McKinsey has a long and well-established presence in Abu Dhabi working across public and private sector institutions to support the major economic transformation efforts across the emirate.

Unlike traditional leadership development programs focused on technical skills, the Qiyada Emerging Leaders program  offers an immersive learning experience of self-discovery, self-definition and self-shaping. It has been designed for promising leaders committed to shaping and driving the ambitious transformation underway in the UAE’s capital.

Over the course of the 12-month program, participants receive interactive training through both plenary and small-group-workshops, facilitated by esteemed industry experts.

To qualify, selected participants must currently serve in a managerial position and must illustrate a diverse range of achievements in their respective organizations. They must also demonstrate a commitment to networking and self-development.

Rima Assi, Senior Partner, and Head of McKinsey’s Abu Dhabi office, said: “Abu Dhabi is going through an ambitious transformation that requires the support of young, driven leaders. Through this year-long development journey of self-discovery, we hope to unlock both the personal and professional potential that will better equip participants to drive this transformation.”

Rawan Albina, Aberkyn hub leader in the Middle East and facilitator of the sessions, said: “During this learning journey, participants learn what it takes to be influential leaders during times of change, and how to lead teams in an adaptive and purposeful way. Participants also walk away with a deeper understanding of personal leadership and problem solving in challenging situations.”

Testimonials from participants in the program:

“This program was rich with information that I have never thought of in my life. It was an amazing experience – so worth my time. It’s a life changing program!”

“By the end of the program, you will feel a new and better version of yourself has arrived.”

“This is not a program like any other. At Qiyada Emerging Leaders, you will learn and reflect on yourself as you progress throughout the program, by leaping out of your comfort zone to explore and uncover traits and skills you never knew you had.”

The Qiyada Emerging Leaders program  includes the following:

  • 360-degree leadership assessment to understand strengths and weaknesses
  • One-on-one coaching sessions with professional coaches to shape a personal learning journey
  • Leadership training forums delivered by distinguished experts to progress leadership capabilities
  • Access to mobile-friendly digital learning modules to help reinforce learnings
  • Guest speakers from leading private and public sector organizations to deliver keynotes
  • Networking and team-building exercises to encourage long-term collaboration among participants
