United Arab Emirates: An MoU has been signed on Wednesday 18th of November 2020 by Professor Hossam Hamdy Chancellor of GMU and Dr. Fawzi Abdulla Amin Head of the Gulf Cluster Office of The International Federation of Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies to establish Gulf Medical University Centre of Humanitarian Education.
The center will be aiming to provide the development & implementation of professional certificates and Diploma programs in the domain of Humanitarian Sciences aimed at supporting the IFRC vision, preparing health professionals, and other professionals to respond to international humanitarian activities. Also training and developing GMU staff and students at both graduate and postgraduate level to act as volunteers and ambassadors in providing humanitarian services and spreading the culture of humanitarian support at all levels nationally, regionally, and internationally.
