Ras Al Khaimah: Under the Presence and Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, Ras Al Khaimah Public Works and Services Department (PWSD), in the presence of Guinness World Record Team, tonight unveiled the Biggest Glow-in-the-Dark Graffiti Wall, smashing the previous record.
Over 35 local and international artists worked together for more than 3 weeks in order to build the wall that depicts Ras Al Khaimah in three different phases: past, present and future which is 407 square metres and located at the entrance of Saqr Park. The previous record was 200 square metres. As part of UAE Innovation week, Ras Al Khaimah Public Works and Services Department also launched their ‘Creative Lab’ at the park which will be a beacon for people attracted to the creative industries.
After the Guinness World Record Team had reviewed and authenticated the wall, a three minute bespoke firework display started to celebrate the new world record, and a new national song written by the Lebanese artist Salim Assaf in coordination with Memories Events Management was dedicated to His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi.
During the event, PWSD also showcased a 3D interactive hologram of Eng. Ahmed Al Hammadi, PWSD’s Director General, which conveyed Ras Al Khaimah’s efforts on its successful journey by highlighting the Emirate’s major projects, creating an amazing spectacle for the audience.
Eng. Ahmed Al Hammadi, then commented: “We are proud that we delivered something really special and have broken the world record. I would like to thank Galadari Trucks & Heavy Equipment Co. Ltd (L.L.C.) who joined hands with us in order to make this event a successful one. Also, I would like to congratulate the PWSD team for their efforts, as without them the event would not have been possible.”
“Under the vision, guidance and support of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ras Al Khaimah has undergone significant development and we have today achieved a new milestone of which we are very proud.”
